Academic and Sports Facilities

Bishop Bratton Hall and Simmonds Hall are the main academic buildings on campus. In addition to classroom space, these buildings house our Computer Labs, Science Wing, Art Gallery, James Agee Memorial Library, and Art Department. The Theatre Building and Music Studio also are used for classes.

The Gymnasium has facilities for basketball, wrestling, weight training, volleyball and gym classes. A six lane all-weather track surrounds the varsity game field. In addition to a baseball diamond and two practice fields, St. Andrew’s-Sewanee offers six new tennis courts, and many running, mountain biking, and hiking trails.

Dormitories and School Residences

In our innovative Residential House system, boarding students live in residential houses where a faculty family resides as house parents and a “family” of 12 to 15 students create a second home. Student proctors, chosen for their character and achievement also assist in running each house. Two students occupy a room and international students are paired with an American student. All houses have been built or renovated in the last five years and have porches with rocking chairs. Each features a common room where microwaves, comfortable couches, televisions, and DVD players are available for use during recreational hours. All student rooms are equipped with two high-speed lines for Internet access and most of the campus is Wi-Fi accessible.
