Community Profile
Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, is the fifth largest school district in the state of Arizona, serving Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Anthem, New River, Cave Creek and unincorporated areas of Northwest Maricopa County. Situated within the Sonoran Desert, the District has grown to 36 campuses including five high schools.
Phoenix is the capital and the most populous city of Arizona as well as being the largest state capital in the United States by population. It is the region’s primary political, cultural, economic, and transportation center. Incorporated in 1881, Phoenix is young by historical standards but now ranks as one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. Residents and businesses will find that Phoenix offers just about everything in the way of sports, recreation, arts, culture, dining, lodging and financial opportunities. Because of the beautiful weather, activities can be enjoyed year-round.
Located on the Western edge of Phoenix, Glendale is home to Fiesta Bowls and the 2008 Super Bowl, offers travelers a wide variety of amenities including the famous Historic Downtown shopping district, legendary special events and festivals, museums and cultural attractions, and a growing number of professional sports facilities.
Located on the Northwest of Phoenix, Peoria is a city rich in history and it continues to grow. Similar to Glendale, it has a variety to offer and in July 2008, Money Magazine listed Peoria in the "Top 100 Places to Live".
Special Comment:
