School Profile

Chelmsford High School cultivates inspired, creative, and well-rounded lifelong learners who possess the integrity and self-direction necessary to be contributing community members. With an active alumni association and local support programs, the students, faculty, and parents take a great deal of pride in this school and school community, and often engage in activities and events to support the citizens of this town. Since Chelmsford High School is a large school divided into three houses, CHS takes pride in providing a small school environment that supports the success of the individual while providing all of the opportunities and diverse offerings of a large school. In addition to being named to the College Board’s AP Honor Roll for the past three consecutive years, Chelmsford High School routinely receives accolades for its many athletic teams, and fine and performing arts programs. CHS has five school wide expectations for learning including communicating across multiple platforms, utilizing real-world digital tools, demonstrating innovation, problem-solving both independently and collaboratively, and demonstrating personal and social responsibility.

Community Information

Chelmsford is located south of the New Hampshire border, 25 miles northwest of Boston and lies in the Merrimack River Valley. The land area is 22.5 square miles. The town is 357 years old. Chelmsford is primarily residential, serving many professionals from technological industries, college and public teaching ranks, medical and legal fields as well as tradespeople.
