This is a truly UNIQUE boarding program where students study at a public high school, but stay in dormitories at a university. Orono High School is a public high school in the town of Orono, Maine. The school offers a very challenging academic program with a wide range of Advanced Placement Courses and interesting electives. Through a varied and comprehensive activity program, life at the school is sure to be busy for all students learning and performing. Technology is a central part of the rich curriculum. International students are warmly welcomed and well taken care of at Orono. In cooperation with University of Maine, students can earn some college credits while going to public school.

Program Overview

This is a one-year program available for Grade 11 or 12 enrollments. Students attend Orono Public High School enrolled as international students with an F-1 visa, and enjoy residential accommodation at the University of Maine campus located a short distance away from Orono High School. Students enrolling in Grade 12 will receive good preparation and support in order to apply for an easy transfer into the University of Maine. This program allows qualified students to receive their high school diploma while earning college credit courses through the University of Maine.

Students have full access to the extra and activities programs, including sports, with no restrictions; and full access to the excellent facilities of the university - a state of the art fitness center, library, museum and arts center; and full access to all on-campus sporting events, such as ice hockey, football, basketball, baseball and more.

Campus Accommodation

Educatius students stay in a university campus dormitory separated from the regular university students on one floor of the building. Boys and girls are separated, but share common room, study area and small kitchen. Students are supervised by a Resident Director and two Dorm Parents also living in the dorm.
