With its roots stretching back to 1796, Oakwood Friends School offers a challenging college preparatory education to students. The school is located in the scenic Hudson Valley, approximately 130 km north of New York City. Shopping and restaurants are conveniently located nearby, yet the campus retains the pastoral ambiance of its farmland origin.

The school offers advanced placement classes in nine subjects, fourteen interscholastic sports teams and 17 classes in the arts. Oakwood Friends School is a Quaker school and seeks to bring out the scholar, athlete, and artist in each student. Quaker values stressing integrity, equality, peace, community and simplicity ensure that each student is valued for who she/he is and each student learns to appreciate helping others in the school community as well as in the wider Poughkeepsie community. Academic and Sport Facilities

The school has 18 classrooms, library, art studio, ceramics studio, darkroom, theatre, music room, gym, soccer fields, baseball field, softball field, weight room, four tennis courts.

Dormitories and School Residences

Students live in double rooms. They have access to one kitchen, two lounges, two TVs, two telephones and a computer room in each building. The dormitories also have wireless internet access, washers and dryers.
